Practice System
1148+ question generators across 20 courses. Every generator produces fresh numbers on each attempt, so you never see the same problem twice. Questions cover Statics, Dynamics, Physics, Chemistry, Linear Algebra, Circuits, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Engineering Economics, and more.
Every answer includes a UWorld-style step-by-step explanation that walks through the solution, highlights common mistakes, and explains the underlying concept. You learn from every problem, whether you get it right or wrong.
Practice modes:
- Standard — full question with all options and detailed explanation
- Quick — compact UI, rapid-fire practice
- Weak Spots — targets topics where your accuracy is below 70%
- Exam-focused — practice using a specific exam blueprint
- Custom goals — pick your own topics and set deadlines
Exam Prep
34 exam blueprints across 4 families: FE, AP, university, and MCAT. Each blueprint is broken into weighted sections that match the real exam structure. Your readiness score per section is your coverage times your accuracy, weighted by the exam weights.
Set a study goal with a deadline. The adaptive engine ramps up urgency as the deadline approaches, focusing on your weakest sections when it matters most.
Courses
20 full university-level courses from introductory to advanced. Each course is organized into modules of atomic concepts with explicit prerequisite relationships. Narrative lessons include worked examples, embedded math (KaTeX), and circuit and structural diagrams.
Course categories: Core Engineering (Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Circuits), Mathematics (Linear Algebra, Math Foundations, Differential Equations, Probability & Statistics), Sciences (Physics Mechanics, Physics E&M, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry), and Applied (Engineering Economics).
Every course page shows which exams it is relevant to, how many generators are available, and links directly to practice. Courses are the content layer. Exam blueprints, practice sessions, and study goals all reference course concepts.
Labs & Simulations
Interactive PhET-style simulations for hands-on learning. Drag forces, load beams, resolve vectors, launch projectiles, oscillate springs, mesh gears, trace light rays, and graph derivatives. Learn by doing, not memorizing.
15+ active simulations across Statics, Dynamics, Optics, Chemistry, and Calculus. Each simulation has learning objectives and connects to the relevant course material.
The Concept Graph maps 4,000+ concepts with prerequisite relationships across all courses. See how everything connects. The Career Match Quiz is a 30-question interest assessment that maps to 20+ engineering disciplines.
Games
Three competitive game modes that make practice feel like play. XP rewards, personal bests, and leaderboard rankings.
- Daily Puzzle — one challenge per day, same for everyone, 6 attempts to solve it
- Speed Round — 60 seconds on the clock, answer as many as you can
- The Gauntlet — progressive difficulty, one wrong answer ends the run
Community
Engineering is better with people. reef.science has leaderboards (all-time, weekly, monthly, and club rankings), clubs where you can create or join study groups, and profiles with XP, badges, streaks, and accuracy stats.
Follow other students to see their progress. Join the Discord server for discussion, feedback, and community events. Every page has a feedback button, and we read every submission.
XP & Progression
Every correct answer earns XP. Your level, badges, and streak are visible on your profile and on the leaderboard. The dashboard shows a topic mastery heatmap so you can see your strengths and gaps at a glance.
- XP system with levels and badges
- Daily streak tracking (consistency matters)
- Per-topic mastery heatmap on the dashboard
- Placement test for new users to skip what you already know
Adaptive Learning
The practice engine is not random. It tracks your accuracy and recency per concept and uses weighted selection to show you more of what you struggle with.
- Weak concepts appear more often until your accuracy improves
- Stale concepts resurface after time away so you do not forget
- Mastered concepts get deprioritized when your exam is far away
- Deadline urgency ramps up as your exam date approaches, hammering weak spots
Set a study goal from your dashboard with an exam date. The system adjusts automatically. Long timelines favor broad coverage. Short timelines focus on your weakest areas.
